Helping people heal and grow is my goal.
For me, therapy is not just a profession but a calling – a way to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
As a compassionate therapist, I genuinely care about helping people heal from challenges and experience growth.
I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and PCIT (Parent-Child Interactive Therapy). I work closely with clients to address trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
Overcome the effects of trauma and anxiety.
In my EMDR work, I gently guide clients through the process of confronting and processing painful memories, helping them find relief from trauma and anxiety.
I specialize in relational trauma, like betrayal or not feeling cared for as a child, often referred to as cPTSD. I have seen firsthand how powerful this technique can bring about real change. If your childhood continues to impact you presently, it would be an honor to be part of your healing journey.
Positive relationships start in childhood.
Using PCIT allows me to support parents and children in building stronger, more peaceful, and loving relationships.
I’m deeply invested in seeing families thrive and believe every child can overcome challenges with the proper support.
Welcome to a judgment-free space.
My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth. I work to provide a safe space where clients feel honestly heard and supported. I help clients make the changes they are desperate to make but are unsure if they are possible.
What truly drives me is my genuine care and empathy. I am the kind of therapist who listens deeply, offers a comforting presence, and ensures you feel safe and supported.
About Maria Pistorio, MA, LPC, NCC
My passion for this work began early, inspired by seeing people I care about struggle with issues I’ve been trained to treat, knowing they deserve peace and relief.
I’m deeply grateful for the guidance of incredible mentors in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as my education and experiences in community mental health. Their influence has shaped my approach to therapy: offering support and guiding clients toward relief that once felt out of reach.
I’ve also learned so much from the clients I’ve had the privilege to serve, and I’m truly thankful for those experiences.
Outside of work, I value meaningful personal connections and continually seek opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.
